MCDB Community Wine and Cheese Event

The MCDB Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee hosted a Wine and Cheese tasting event on March 22, in the OC Marsh Lecture Hall Lobby.  The event’s organizers, Kristyn Carter (Postdoc Associate, Horsley Lab), Lauren Dickinson (Grad Student, Jacobs Lab), Amy Gibbs (Faculty & Academic Affairs Administrator, Business Office) and Alicia Stein (Grad Student, Crews Lab) aimed to promote a renewed sense of community and belonging within MCDB.  Based on the turnout and initial feedback, their mission was accomplished.  There were six different varietals of wine (3 reds and 3 whites) to taste, each paired with a complementing cheese.  Sparkling cider, water and sodas were also available for all to enjoy.  The DEI committee hopes to plan future events like this to encourage meeting new people and discovering new things.  If you would like help foster community within MCDB and the Greater New Haven area, we encourage you to join the DEI committee by contacting the committee’s faculty advisor, Thierry Emonet.
