Students automatically receive an email account. This information is sent to new incoming students during the summer by the Office of Student Financial and Administrative Services (SFAS). NetIDs control access to Yale’s email servers (Pine on a UNIX system or IMAP or POP), various internet features, other computer hosts, and the student information system web page. Before you can use these services you must activate your net ID.
