Synthetic organic chemist with extensive experience in medicinal chemistry across both the pharmaceutical industry and academia.

  • First to synthesize and co-inventor of eight novel drugs now commercially available as research chemical tools, including SJF0628, SJF620, SJF-δ, SJF-a, SJF8240, SJF1528, RO-127445, scale-up synthesis and co-inventor of RO-0437626.

  • Experience in multiple therapeutic areas such as Oncology, CNS, and Urology.
    Expert in Protein Degradation technology including the design and synthesis of PROTACs and Molecular Glues.

  • Extensive expertise in design and synthesis of drug candidates for different targets including kinases, serotonin receptors, GPCRs, ligand-gated ion channels, nucleosides, and transcription factors. 

  • Proficient in the conception, design, and synthesis of new molecules. Very familiar with structure and ligand-based drug design. Wide experience in drug discovery from hit to lead identification, and especially in lead optimization.

  • Hands-on and highly creative synthetic-organic chemist with proven track record of timely delivery of compounds from mg to multigram quantities. Comprehensive knowledge of modern organic synthesis methodologies with excellent problem-solving skills and ability to achieve difficult syntheses and organic transformations. 

  • Experience in managing outsourcing collaborations with external CROs in support of in-house drug discovery programs
  • Co-inventor on 26 patents and co-author of 28 peer-reviewed scientific publications.
