Asymptomatic Screening

Yale is providing voluntary asymptomatic COVID-19 gateway testing to faculty, staff, and postdocs who will be returning to work on campus for the fall semester. A test is particularly recommended for faculty who will be teaching in person. Those who plan to work exclusively remotely do not need to be tested.

Testing is one part of our overall strategy to reduce the likelihood that asymptomatic infection will be brought into the community; wearing a mask, social distancing and frequent handwashing are equally critical prevention steps.

Testing may be scheduled through the Yale COVID-19 Screening Program website. We ask that you schedule your testing to take place after August 31, to allow students to complete their arrival testing. Staff who are concerned about potential risk or exposure may schedule additional testing during the fall semester as needed, up to once weekly.

A limited number of staff will be required to be tested for COVID-19 weekly due to their job responsibilities and frequent contact with undergraduates. These individuals recently received a separate communication.

If you have questions, please contact the COVID-19 Campus Resource Line, which is staffed by health care professionals at 203-432-6604.
